BMW's current 7 Series first hit the streets in 2015, so it's well overdue for a refresh coming into 2019. And thanks to a whole load of leaks, we know what that refresh is going to look like.
Spoiler: there's going to be a huge, X7-esque kidney grill, and there are plenty of people who have something to say about that.
Does it ever!
Man, does the grille on the new BMW 7-series ever look ridiculous. Hopefully the next generation will just do away with the headlights completely and make the whole front end a kidney grille. pic.twitter.com/XYNVGjB6Oi— Tom Sedens (@Wildsau) January 8, 2019
The Z4/Supra cooperation goes deep
You can really see the partnerships between BMW and Toyota through the size of their grilles pic.twitter.com/BaTDHak9t8— Handy McStand (@blaize10623643) January 9, 2019
A long lost twin
Hey, here's another idea
Honestly, I'm not sure I get it

Pretty dark places you're going there, buddy
Like it should have emaciated arms of the imprisoned reaching out....— KinkyPimp (@kinkypimp) January 8, 2019
A reasoned argument BMW's Twitter peeps will almost certainly pass on to head office
@BMWUSA Hey guys! I know it's not official yet, but if those leaked images of the updated 7 series are truthful, I have to say it, but you need to find a different designer. The amount of controversy around your design lately is staggering. It doesn't look like a BMW anymore.— Vadym Timotin (@TimotinVadym) January 10, 2019
You mean like these things?
Dear god that is ugly. It doesn’t even look like a real BMW, it looks like a Chinese imitation— Jack Hanley (@J_Ha88) January 9, 2019
For balance, this guy's a fan (kinda)
Could this be the new 2020 #bmw7series ? I just really hope their main car commercial model (if this is even a word) don’t use those hideous #bmwx7 wheels. Love the new giant grill! #bmw pic.twitter.com/JrwIC1nCFj— KJ (@Kj_notApa) January 9, 2019
